Blue Moon


The film follows the psychological journey of a young woman to her dehumanizing process. Irina struggles to achieve higher education and escape the violence of her dysfunctional family. An ambiguous sexual experience with an artist will spur her intention to fight the violence in her family.

About the Director

Alina Grigore (Bucarest, 1984) studied acting and directing at the UANTC in Bucharest. Her films as an actress include titles such as Aurora (Cristi Puiu; 2010), Din dragoste cu cele mai bune intentii(Best Intentions, Adrian Sitaru; 2011) and Ilegitim (Illegitimate, Adrian Sitaru; 2016), for which she also co-wrote the screenplay, as well as several TV series in Romania. She has directed the shorts Domino (2016), Triptic (2016) and River-bet (2017). Crai nou is her first feature film. Pre-production is currently underway on her second, Some Irrelevant Stories about Moms, starring Melissa Leo.
