Jules Hermann

Jules Herrmann is a Berlin-based film director. She graduated from Filmuniversität Babelsberg and worked as artistic consultant and editor for feature films. She co-produced The story of the Astronaut, which won several awards. LIEBMANN, her directorial debut, premiered at Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival, was nominated for the Teddy Award and the European Film Award, travelled numerous national and international festivals and was theatrically released in Germany and France. She tutored the “Science Fiction Film Lab” at Technische Universität Berlin and is currently preparing her next feature film.


Pippo Mezzapesa

Born in 1980 in Bitonto (Bari). Lido Azzurro (2001), his first short film, is very well received. With Zinanà, his second short film, he won the David di Donatello Prize in 2003. Three years later Come a Cassano, his third short film, received a special mention in Nastri d’Argento. With the docu-fiction Pinuccio Lovero – Sogno di una morte di mezza estate, produced by Vivo Film – Fanfara Film, he debuts in the feature film sector. The film was selected as Special Closing Event during the International Critics’ Week at the 65th Venice Film Festival. In 2009, after nominations for the David di Donatello and the Globo d’Oro, the short film L’Altra Metà with Piera Degli Esposti and Cosimo Cinieri, won a special award for the direction of Nastri D’Argento. In 2011 he wrote and directed the film Il paese delle spose infelici, which was produced by Fandango and was shown in competition at the 6th International Film Festival in Rome. In 2012 he directed Pinuccio Lovero – Yes I Can in competition at the 7th International Film Festival in Rome. In the same year his short film Settanta won the Nastro d’Argento and it had a nomination to David di Donatello like best short film. In the 2017 he directed La Giornata, nominated to the David di Donatello and the Italian Golden Globe and winner of the Nastro d’Argento for social environment. In 2018 with Il bene mio with Sergio Rubini, he tells the harsh reality of the ghost villages affected by earthquakes. The movie had three nominations to Italian Golden Globe.

Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese

Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese is a filmmaker and artist hailing from Lesotho. Traversing various spheres, he has worked as a writer, director, and cinematographer. His video art and short films have travelled extensively, winning awards on the festival circuit. In 2018 his feature-length essay film Mother, I am Suffocating. This is My Last Film About You, was selected for Final Cut in Venice, where it won six awards. It went on to premiere in the Berlinale Forum in 2019 and continues to screen at festivals, museums including MoMA. Mosese was one of three filmmakers selected for Biennale College Cinema with his first narrative feature film This Is Not A Burial, It’s A Resurrection. The film screened at The Venice International Film Festival 2019, Sundance Film Festival 2020, where it won a Special Jury Award for Visionary Filmmaking and Rotterdam 2020. Mosese is an alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus (2012), Focus Features Africa First (2012), Realness Screenwriting Residency (2017), Final Cut Venice (2018) Venice Biennale Cinema College (2018), and Cannes L’Atelier (2019).
